Would they deny me my rights and priveledges?

I think that depends on the lodge. It's a shame to say that some of the mainstream lodges in the south are still living in the dark ages. Personally, if you hail from a lodge that is recognized by my Grand Lodge, you are more than welcome to sit with me in lodge.
Even if you weren't from a recognized lodge I would still treat you as a brother. We are all brothers in the eyes of God. However if you weren't from a recognized lodge I couldn't have Masonic discourse with you. That's not to say that I wouldn't offer you a hand if you were in distress or give you a meal or some help to get to your next destination.

Hi Eric,
I'm curious (and ONLY curious...), are you going to test it to establish a sociological baseline, or to see how far you can push things?
For me, I can't believe your skin color is still an issue. It blows my mind that an organization such as the Masons; an enlightened organization nonetheless, still struggles with the race issue. I, myself, never got it; why a man's skin color was ever an issue. It is not logical.
Good luck in your pursuit Brother Eric. You have my support, although it's just moral support. Good luck in your quest!
Fraternally,

I think the real problem is not the Craft but the one who can not find there way to the light. They travel with one eye closed and upon a half darkened path chosing to see what they wish. If you just open your eyes and walk in the light you'll find the brothers you never knew you had.

As I said before thelodges in the south that travel freely exist but then you have to ask yourself some hard questions regarding regularity.

No question about it I agree with you 100%. That being said the lodges that would welcome you exist here in AL. but they are not under the jusidiction of the GL of AL.
