Dr Lacy was one of the first masons I met in VA and he was a prince. He taught one of my masonic leadership classes, and i found him to be a joy of a man. I will most certainly miss his wisdom and wit.

Cliff

Dear Brethren:
As you may already be aware, one of our Past Grand Masters, Most Worshipful Matthew Lyle Lacy, II was called to the Celestial Lodge above on Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Dr. Lacy wished to donate his body to science; however, a Masonic Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 7:00 P.M., at Richmond Scottish Rite, located at 4204 Hermitage Road, Richmond, Virginia. A reception with light refreshments to follow in the dining room. An emergent communication of Grand Lodge has been called for the purpose of conducting this Masonic Memorial Service (see attached). Divine services will be held in conjunction with the Masonic service.
Condolences may be sent to 12932 Branders Bridge Road, Chester, Virginia 23821. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Masonic Home of Virginia, 4101 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, Virginia 23223-4916 or to Hampden Sydney College, Box 637, Hampden-Sydney, Virginia 23943.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Alan W. Adkins
Grand Secretary

Aug 14, 2008 - 7:53 PM - by D. W. Brown | As previously reported, on June 27, 2008 the Grand Orient of United States (GOUSA) and the Grand Orient de France (GOdF) signed the official patent and Treaty of Amity.
GOdF just released a few photos of Grand Master Jean-Michel Quillardet and a delegation from the Grand Orient de France showing M.W. Bro. John Slifko, current GOUSA Grand Master, the patent.
