I'm curious to know what others think about this. The SR is something I've been considering, mostly because my background doesn't lend itself to becoming a KT. So, SR- scam or worthy endeavor?

in 2008, AASR is accepted by Masons as an appendant body.

Doesn't matter how it started. We know where it stands today.

So were it's origins actually illegitimate? Imagine the hypocrisy of SR Masons criticizing non recognized jurisdictions when they, themselves, started illegitimately!

Precisely what I was thinking Jamie. By Jayman's logic, the same line of thought could be used to exclude certain lodges too- "Prince Hall is clandestine. Doesn't matter if that's wrong, that's where it stands today, ever shall it remain."

Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately many, many, times "recongnition" is used as an excuse to exclude many worthy men from coming together as Masons. Which state do you live in?

Another thought....the SR claims their original patent came from the Grand Orient of France. If this is correct wouldn't that mean that the patent issed by the Grand Orient of France to the GOUSA is just as legitimate as the one held by the Scottish Rite?

Fact is: AASRSJ Degrees are not theirs, none of them have origins from them but are actually degrees "taken" from other Rites. Recently the AASRSJ has tried to imply through the Knights of St. Andrew that the SR is from Scotland nothing could be further from the truth. ALL degrees of the Scottish Rite are "Ecossais" based solely on Clermont work mostly from the Bordeaux region of France.

Rite of Heredom

The Council of Emperors granted Stephen Morrin a patent to perform CRAFT Degrees only. He later "altered" the patent granting him the right to perform, charter, and issue lodges conferring the Rite of Perfection.

Morrin had as lieutenants men of not good repute and it was through their soild hands the rite remained for 40 years.
Morrin died in Jamaca.

Then in 1783 the Rite was established in Charleston by Isaac da Costa who was created Deputy Inspector of South Carolina by Moses Hayes.
It was during this time they "claimed" connections with Frederick the Great of Prussia as supreme head of the Rite.
Now all sides admit it was a forgery.

It has also been proven that de Grasse-Tilly's Golden Book the alleged Grand Constitutions of 1786 were and are forgeries.

Dalcho and Mitchell both set up the AASRSJ out of thin air. Claiming a Supreme Council and producing a patent they say is from France. Who signed? It was not the real GM so where is this document today?

HMMMMMMMM?? So its okay for the AASRSJ to have (to say the least) "questionalble" background after they and their talking heads: Bonney, King, Morris, and Hodapp attack each and everytime a news blimp about GOUSA or the GOd'F comes along?

Now we see that they are running scared and hurriedly starting quick fix groups like the Masonic Society (regular Masons only need apply)

And the spin Master the Rev. Bonney tauting today a new lodge called Specialis Procer which is:
"...will borrow the best of the TO and EC concepts to fit the needs of such a lodge under the obedience of the Grand Lodge of Iowa A.F.&A.M. (regular masons need only to apply)

Special Procer also will seek to be a lodge that recaptures the importance of the festive board or agape feast of the Craft upon which brotherly love and fellowship are built. We hope to be short on business and high on Masonic pursuits."

Seems like for all the attacking they do they in kind have started new little groups copying GOUSA. Why is that? Could GOUSA and the GOd'F be stepping on someone's holy feet??
