I think this is tough for the younger brothers to do.

Once you factor in available time after work and family obligations, the brother then spends time on his own lodge, then any appendent degrees. Doesn't leave a whole lot of time to travel to other lodges.

I think it's mostly older, retired brothers that still visit.

i am only a fellowcraft currently but so far have tagged along with my brothers to 5 other lodges this year on visits and degrees.

In New York we are lucky to have many lodges in the Grand Lodge building at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan. I travelled more often before my daughter was born. I also don't like to just show up to lodges, so I only go if I know people. Also, I was in school where classes started early morning, making lodge which is mostly late evening a bit of a schlep. I try to make it out and visit when I can. I'd like to make more effort to do so in the future.
